Safa Zarzour
Superintendent
Mr. Zarzour is a nationally recognized educator and leader in Islamic Schools who has helped over 100 full-time Islamic Schools in North America. He has served as the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Schools of North America (CISNA), CEO of Iqra Education Foundation, Chairman of the ISNA Education Forum, and has served as the Vice Chairman of Universal School in Chicago. He also worked as both a teacher and later a principal at Universal School in Chicago. Mr. Zarsour holds his principals and attorneys license and also served as the Islamic Society of North America’s (ISNA) Secretary General.
Heba Elshakmak
Principal
Ms. Elshakmak has become MTI’s principal after being a very successful math teacher for eight years and having served as the assistant principal in 2014-2015. Ms. Elshakmak holds a Masters degree in Construction Project Management from London University in the United Kingdon and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Benghazi University in Libya. Ms. Elshakmak additionally have Masters degree in Educational Leadership through which she acquired her Principals Certification.
